Personal Overview

Darrel L. Sandall, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), where he teaches courses that include Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Human Resources Management, and Management Theory and Thought at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He researches and publishes on the intersection of innovation, technology and human capital management. In his role at FIT, he has served the university in many ways, including serving as the Assistant Director of the Center for Innovation and Lifecycle Management, the President of the Faculty Senate, and as a member of the President's Cabinet, the University Budget Committee, and the University Patent Committee. Additionally, Darrel is the CEO and President of Integra Management Associates, a human capital management consulting firm. He has 15 years as an executive with two defense contractors as well as two years as a faculty member in the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation at Purdue University.

Prior to his current position at FIT, Darrel served as the Chief Operating Officer of Xtreme Alternative Defense Systems, LTD. In his role with XADS, Darrel managed the daily operations and government contracting of the company with an operating budget of over $10M. He also managed the intellectual property portfolio and provided strategic leadership for the growth of the company.

Before serving as the COO of XADS, Dr. Sandall was the Chief Skills Officer (CSO) for SkillsNET Corporation, one of the Top 500 fastest growing companies in the United States in 2006 as recognized by Inc Magazine. As CSO, Darrel managed the research, development and implementation of the personnel science solutions provided by SkillsNET, and was involved with developing and implementing technology-based manpower, personnel and training solutions for corporate and governmental clients, including numerous multi-million dollar contracts for the U.S. Department of Defense. Additionally, he was a co-inventor of systems and methods covered by 13 patent applications.

In his career, he has worked with clients such as Cisco Systems, M-i SWACO, C4EO, the Canadian Combined Armed Forces, the European Union, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Naval Reserves, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Federal Aviation Administration, the General Services Administration, IEEE, Alliant Techsystems (ATK), CitiFinancial Mortgage North America, Plateau Systems, CSRG, First Hawaiian Bank, the National Shipbuilding Research Program, the American Job Link Alliance, and numerous other corporations and state governments.
