Personal Overview

Ms. Garmer obtained her MLIS from the University of South Florida in Tampa with an emphasis on Reference and Adult Services. She most recently served as the Director of the Port St. John Public Library. Prior to heading up the Port St. John library, Ms. Garmer assisted the citizens of Brevard County with research and instruction as a reference department head for the Brevard County Library System.

Her decade-long career has focused on the enhancement of user experience and the promotion of public services in libraries. Ms. Garmer’s contributions to the public library system include such initiatives as the One Book Brevard community read and Brevard County’s participation in Orange County Library System’s award-winning project The Right Service at the Right Time.
