Our student advisors are here to help you every step of your journey towards earning your degree from FIT Orlando. From application to admission, to living and learning, our advisors will guide you through all the necessary steps you need to take to get here, live here and earn your graduate degree.

Applying to FIT Orlando

The first step is simple. Once you complete the application and submit your official transcripts you will receive an admit decision from Graduate Admissions within a few weeks.

*Admission to Graduate programs at Florida Tech is on a rolling basis. However, it is strongly recommended that the dates listed above be followed to be considered for admission for the requested semester of entrance. Please note that the application along with all required documents should be submitted by these dates. It is important to know that if a decision is not reached for the term requested by the evaluation deadline the application will automatically be considered for the next upcoming term.

Admittance to Enrollment

English Language Proficiency

Once admitted, you will be required to provide proof of your English language proficiency if your home language is not English. To learn more about these requirements, click here. If your TOEFL score is not within the acceptable limit and you are required to attend ELS Language Center on our main-campus in Melbourne, our advisors can help coordinate enrollment in ELS and housing options in Melbourne.

F1 Visa

Once you are admitted and have completed your I-20 application, our student advisor will guide you through every step needed to acquire your F1 Visa—giving you the ability to live and learn at FIT Orlando. 

Getting Here

If you are coming from out of the country on an F1 Visa, you can move to Orlando as early as 30 days prior to your degree program start date. The Orlando International Airport connects to most major airlines and destinations. This is the preferred arrival airport and our advisor can help arrange transportation from the airport to FIT Orlando if needed.

Living Here

FIT Orlando is located in the beautiful village of Baldwin Park. Here, there are many housing options, ranging from apartments, to townhomes and large homes. Rental agreements can be arranged through private owners, property managers or the apartment complex leasing office. You can view some available housing options and rental rates here. If you have a car, you could easily choose to live in one of Orlando’s other unique neighborhoods, including Downtown Orlando, Winter Park, Thornton Park or College Park and still be within 10-15 minute driving-distance to class.

Orientation, Enrollment & Advising

Your advisor will schedule and coordinate a new student orientation for you prior to starting classes. During this orientation, you will learn all about what classes to take, how to register for classes, how to order books, how to obtain a student ID, where to park, classroom learning times and other topics related to learning at FIT Orlando. 

Health & Wellness

Our student advisor is also your source for acquiring information on doctors, dentists, counselors and any other health-related need you may have. Since health insurance will be required for enrollment and is arranged through Florida Tech, our advisor will help you file any medical insurance claims made during your time at FIT Orlando. 

Support Services

Your advisor can provide you with information on banks, post offices, area transportation, travel agencies, rental car agencies, recreational facilities, social services, campus resources and international student organizations.

Extracurricular Activities

We want your experience at FIT Orlando to not only be intellectually stimulating, but socially engaging as well. Your advisor will plan regular outings for you and your fellow students to participate in. This includes trips to Florida Tech’s main campus in Melbourne to watch a football or sample foods from around the world during our annual International Festival. Outings around Orlando will also be scheduled each semester—giving you the opportunity to explore the city and all it has to offer with a group of like-minded students.
