Military Internships and Research Opportunities

Unique Programs That Build Science Experts & Military Officers

Florida Tech interdisciplinary science students taking a military science option have the chance to experience unique military internships. These military internships take place in the form of leadership opportunities such as The Leadership Training Course. It provides hands-on training with real Army personnel and equipment resulting in various credit rewards for completion.

Outside of military internships, Florida Tech students may also intern at companies including:

  • NASA
  • National Institutes of Health
  • Kennedy Space Center
  • Harris Corp.
  • Northrop Grumman

Whether students choose corporate internships or military internships with the U.S. Army, these experiences allow them to practice the skills they learn in the classroom in a real working environment.

Research Opportunities

In addition to corporate and military internships, each interdisciplinary science student at Florida Tech takes part in research tailored to his or her own interests. Some of the many topics researched by interdisciplinary science students and faculty are:

Be Part of the Panther Battalion and More

Outside of research and corporate or military internships, interdisciplinary sciences with military option students take part in Reserve Officers' Corps Training (ROTC). As a part of Florida Tech's Panther Battalion, students participate in regular physical and mental training to prepare them for a potential officer position in the United States Army after college.

Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) share an interest in space and the sciences. Members of SEDS meet regularly to talk about exciting scientific topics and listen to intriguing guest lectures.
