I was attending another university and had a friend who was attending FIT, he told me how much he liked the program and so I decided to look into it. After transferring to Florida Tech I feel like I have learned a lot. I like the one on one attention students receive from the instructors and with FIT you get the feed back that you need where at other places if feels like they just rush you along.

Choose Florida Tech for an MBA Degree

Providing the Center for Entrepreneurship and Student Business Incubator

Innovation, diversity, ethics and leadership – these IDEAL tenants are the driving force behind everything we do at Florida Tech in the MBA degree program. MBA students are often recognized on the national stage, including such prestigious awards as the Financial Executive International Medallion for Distinguished Scholar, and a second place prize in the 2012 America's National Gas Alliance Collegiate Energy Challenge for an integrated marketing campaign.

Experienced, Entrepreneurial Faculty

In addition to their doctoral degrees and extensive teaching experience, the Florida Tech MBA degree program faculty brings wide-ranging experience to the classroom from multiple industries and positions, including project management, consulting, engineering, investing and marketing.

Many faculty members have an entrepreneurial background, actively engaged in the community serving as consultants and advisory board members. The faculty also plays a vital role in the vision of the Nathan M. Bisk College of Business, focusing on "excellence in educating future entrepreneurial leaders."

A Culture that Develops Leaders

Students earning an MBA degree find a learning culture that supports individual creativity, leadership and team building, while fostering ethical decision-making and diversity. Florida Tech students are a diverse mix of full-time workers in the local area and students from around the globe seeking to obtain higher-level management skills. The university encourages innovative thinking and exploration with many opportunities to work alongside business leaders and entrepreneurs through the Visiting Executive and Entrepreneur Programs that include lectures, mentoring and public talks.

Additional Learning Opportunities

MBA degree program opportunities afforded to Florida Tech students also include:

  • Emphasis on Ethics and Leadership - The Nathan M. Bisk College of Business is dedicated to educating leaders to make thoughtful decisions, set high standards and promote corporate accountability. An annual ethics and leadership breakfast provides MBA degree students with an opportunity to network with business leaders and consider practices from personal, professional and societal perspectives. Students also attend a public forum ethics and leadership conference where they learn from business, community and government leaders.
  • Entrepreneurship Center – The Center for Entrepreneurship and New Business Development is another way Florida Tech's MBA degree program prepares students for success in business. The center pushes the boundaries of entrepreneurial education, innovation and research in pursuit of new venture creation, sustainability, social value creation and more.
  • Experiential Learning–Students learn outside the classroom as well through activities such as the Business Hackathon, Intercollegiate case competitions, exploration of new venture development, participation in corporate-sponsored and collegiate competitions, management consulting with local industry and exploration of a business startup in the Student Business Incubator Practicum. An MBA degree student also has access to assistantships and internships that involve market research, analysis and customer discovery with local businesses.
  • Labs and Resources – Students have access to the Student Business Incubator facilities, fully updated computer classrooms that support team projects in accounting, finance, marketing, strategic management, among others, library resources in support of accounting and finances courses including VALUELINE and MERGENT, as well as SPSS statistical software for data analysis and marketing simulations.

The Student Business Incubator Practicum Jump Starts Business Leadership

Completing a Major Field Practicum experience is one facet of an MBA degree program. Florida Tech's Student Business Incubator – a living, breathing center for new venture creation – combines curriculum, facilities and expertise to fully immerse students in a semester-long Lean Startup approach to venture development.
