Sustainability Research

The aquisition and analysis of research data is central to managing systems for long term sustainability.  Students in all sustainability programs complete a year-long capstone research project (examples are on the Campus and Community portal) and include awards in international student research.

Measuring and analyzing sustainability performance requires skills in many potential career fields (examples include carbon accounting, renewable energy engineering, endangered species extinctions, sustainable building design, geographic information systems, government operations, etc.).

To learn more about sustainability research you can also visit the Florida Tech Research Portal, to search sustainability and related fields across many disciplines. Research often aids the identification and implementation of best practices - optimal routines that improve efficiency and long-term production.

Companies, non-profits, academia, and government employers seek sustainability professionals to research and refine systems management to improve long-term resilience.  Examples of such jobs are in Sustainability FAQs.
